My Gosh... why do people think they can ask me extremely personal and sexual questions when they find out I'm a lesbian? Then they get all surprised when they realize I don't take sex lightly? Its only happened a few times in my life, but none the less, it's quite annoying.
Does this stuff only happen to me!?

(p.s. late comic update! sorry about that)

Yeah, I know! I hate when people assume that if you're gay, you're automatically eager to talk about sex. It's like they think we have no shame or something!

I enjoy your comics. Keep 'em up. I was wondering if you had any other websites/blogs/tumblrs of any sort?

I do have a tumblr. :)

Whenever I tell someone that I'm bisexual, they feel the need to tell me about their bi-curious thoughts. In detail. As if I'm the gay guru or something.

Reply Salome, August 14th, 2011, 9:17 pm

Sorry that I do nothing to stop people from close-minded thinking like that... I'm openly queer and I literally have no verbal boundaries. :'D

Reply raindropmemory, August 14th, 2011, 9:37 pm

Your comics remind me of how people always tell me that my sister is really cool... because she's gay.

Reply WolfEclipse, August 14th, 2011, 10:28 pm

I'm never shy to give people a rundown of my sexual experiences xD Though I have toned it down now that my girlfriend isn't so keen on having that shared. My bestfriend since childhood is also a lesbian and she is extremely open about her sexlife. By extremely, I men she will announce her bedroom anctics without any prompting. Loudly. In public. But that's why we love her!

I guess people are so curious because it's something they don't usually have experience in themselves. They are genuinely fascinated but use the kind of blatant inuendo cover so they don't seem interested seriously. And the response really depends on the person, homosexual or otherwise.

this comic is epic

Happens to me all the time. That or the "Wait, how do two girls even DO it?"
:| Seriously?

Reply Shinji-Uchiha, August 15th, 2011, 11:20 pm

My friend is a lesbian and she tells me all her sexual relations with her girlfriends.
I do have that problem when people ask me what I do with my boyfriend and keep pushing it until I snap and yell at them :/

Reply Cannetella, August 16th, 2011, 6:19 pm

It's amazing that people would actually ASK something like that. How rude!

Reply .GosomerBlack., August 17th, 2011, 5:17 am

Empathy >>; Geeze, It's like a mirror. My responses were a bit different, but you know - I had a conversation like that with some strange girl at a convention.
. ___.

I don't know what the hell it is people expect to hear though. Sometimes it's even another lesbian or even a bisexual person who would ask me something like that.

I feel ya guurl.
*fist pump*

i actually find it entertaining when people ask those sorts of questions... I just bs them and when they say 'really???' it's so fun to disappoint them with a flat out 'no.' I find it more annoying that some think I've had sex with countless people in the first place ._.

Reply Yuu-Chan (Guest), August 19th, 2011, 7:26 pm

Oh, dear havens, really. It's funny, really. I'm also used to this kind of thing, wich is more or less ok when you're with friends, but when is just some random person YOU JUST MET and makes you sex questions it's just... So effing awkward.
Btw I want to say I love your comic. <3 I can relate so pretty well with all the pages it makes me really happy.

Omg! I thought this was just with me! When people find out I like girls some just launch into asking me about sex and then when they find out I'm a complete prude I always get looks of shock lol

Reply JuiceGira, November 1st, 2011, 7:28 pm

True true. Or they look at me like I'm some kind of freak. One (stupid) woman asked one time what would a boy think of me?! Like they would think that I'm gross or something just cause I like girls too! Wtf man?!

Reply Brags (Guest), December 2nd, 2011, 1:56 am

As a trans person, this happens to me a lot. :( It sucks.

Reply TicklePickles, January 18th, 2012, 5:54 pm

:/ I feel ya girl. Pisses me off. I was constantly mocked by this asain guy in my class who always came up and asked me very personal sexual questions.

Reply KatzyKins, January 19th, 2012, 7:40 am

I used to be a straight person who took sex lightly xD
D:< so everyone who ever assumed it was only gay people, is wrong.

Reply Potatoes4Eva, July 9th, 2012, 1:11 pm

XD I ask EVERYONE personal sex questions. Because, I don't see them as personal. It's like, I'll ask them if there aren't any people around... And if they don't want to answer, It's like, "Alright, alright. You wanna ask then?" ">:I WHY IS EVERYTHING YOU TALK ABOUT SEX?" "I talk about Sebastian Michaelis, too." "The only man you will ever love." "Fuck yes."

Reply KittyLitter, September 1st, 2012, 1:09 pm

When people learn I'm bi, they ask about my sexual experiences.
"I had sex with this guy once. It was in his car. We were on a dead-end road and suddenly a school bus drove by. Elementary school kids were scarred for life that day."
They usually stop asking after that 8D

Reply Morari, June 8th, 2013, 6:49 pm

It's not just you. People have done that to me before too, with the assumption that gay = you must have had sex to "really know."
